Christopher Santiago Figueroa

Puerto Rico - Former Chef of the « Mi Casa » in Puerto Rico, then gastronomy teacher

Born on February 14, 1986 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Christopher Santiago Figueroa has been interested in cooking since high school. In 2003, he worked in a German pastry shop and quickly became a chef, while pursuing his university studies at Ana G. Mendez University in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

For four years, he worked at the German pastry shop ‘Da Pastel Haus’ and at the Congress Center of Puerto Rico, where he developed his skills in banqueting.

In 2011, he learned French and Asian fusion cuisine at ‘St. Regis Bahía Beach Resort’ in Rio Grande alongside chef Jean George Vongerichten.

For five years, he worked with Spanish and modernist cuisine in the restaurant ‘Mi casa’ of chef José Andrés, then the adventure stopped because of hurricanes Irma and María. Christopher Santiago Figueroa resumes his studies in culinary management at Ana G. Mendez University and has lived there for one of the most rewarding experiences of his life as a teacher.
